Every time I go into my web browser and start browsing the web my 'CPU Usage' goes really high and then my PC starts to lag really badly. Is there any way to reduce high CPU usage? Because this is getting very annoying. I can't even watch videos on YouTube or play Facebook games without my pc lagging.

- You can type in google or bing and find the download sites or use this site: http://www.filehippo.com/

- Download malwarebytes and scan your computer and remove any virus/malware found.

- You can also download a free antivirus program like avast, but that will always be running and use up resources, so a alternative free program would be bitdefender traffic light add-on for your web browser.

- Download ccleaner and check all the boxes and run a regular and registry clean. Then go tools and go to start up and disable any start up programs your not using and restart your computer.

- You can also use, start menu -> accessories -> system tools -> do a disk clean up first, then do disk defragmenter.

- You can also use, start menu -> run -> type, msconfig -> startup -> uncheck programs to disable them, then restart computer.

- Right click " my computer " and click properties -> go to advanced tab and click performance settings -> choose adjust for best performance (but you may want smooth edges of screen fonts still on and use visual styles on windows and buttons still on).

- Also if you have a laptop, you may want to turn off power saving options because that can hole back your computer's cpu.

- This is more advanced so DANGER AWARE, start menu -> run -> services.msc (don't use msconfig for it), then you can follow this guide -> (please learn everything before making changes) http://www.blackviper.com/

- This is more advanced so DANGER AWARE, you can overclock your cpu. Please learn how to do before doing it.

- To watch youtube videos you need a faster web browser like for example google chrome. You can also use firefox but it's not as fast. Then you need adobe flash player if you don't already have it.

- Since web browsers and adobe flash player use to much cpu usage, a alternative is to download vlc player -> copy youtube internet url -> go to vlc player and go to media tab -> open network stream -> paste url and hit play. (If it's buffering because of your internet connection, make sure no one else is using the internet, also you can click show more options and increase the catching). (If cpu usage is too high, you can use vlc bonus gpu hardware decoding and some other settings).

which browser are you using?

based on research by raymond, (chk the source) opera is the best for low CPU usage, even when used with flash (YouTube or play Facebook games). But there is a tradeoff. you may not be able to view many websites with opera, because those pages are meant to be viewed in other major browsers. chk the source.

put your PC clean

don't run too many programs (you can see the process lists in your task manager and close the process that you are not using. Note : be careful there are important process that should not be closed in order for your system to work properly)

check your OS's system requirements (its better to have more capacity then the minimum requirements specified in OS ) something like that
