I don't think you can get the 1920x1200 resolution screen on the M1530 (at least last time i checked)

The resoultion is the limiting factor though. The 8600MGT is a good graphics card, however if you run games at the native resolution of your screen it will not perform well for newer games (such as Unreal Tournament 3)

For instance, i get less than 30fps with UT3 running at 1680x1050 on my XPS M1530. However older games such as Counter-Strike Source run extremely well at these high resolutions)

Now you can of course drop down the resolution while in game, however LCD's can look strange when not running at their native res.

Laptop + Games Do not Mix. Like Fire & Water. You Need a Desktop For Games. Even if You Spent About £1200 on A Laptop, Something like an 'Alienware'. It would only be about medium to high spec on games. And last you about 9months. You cannot upgrade laptops, apart from the RAM, and maybe the HDD if your lucky. If you spent £1000 on a Gaming Desktop, then you would be laughing for about 3yrs, with about 2 upgrades along the way. Spend you money on a desktop PC. Anyway, the laptop you mentioned would be ok, about medium Spec. A CPU needs to be atleast 2.3ghz for good gaming. And RAM could do with being the faster 800mhz, although 2GB is good ammount. The Graphics card isn't a 'wow'. Because the DX10 games are starting to come out, and this will only do DX9, which will not be good enough in about 6-10months. And your not gonna be able to upgrade that ! 120GB is good for a laptop, but not for gaming. Need atleast 220GB. Overall. For gaming, i rate this Laptop about 6/10 for a laptop gaming pc. For an overall gaming computer, 4/10. My advise. get a Desktop pc with atleast a 2.4ghz Dual Core CPU, 2GB of 800mhz RAM, an Nvidia 8800GTS Graphics Card and a 320GB hardrive. This will cost you about £700. But you'll be ok for a while, atleast 16months, and its easy to upgrade... Good Luck, hope ive helped!

Basically Anything out yet should run good. (A better video card would be nice, but you can't be picky when it comes to laptops.) Actually, im not even sure if they have a better video card then that for laptops.
