Sony Vaio VGN-NR10E/S Wireless adapter not detected after reinstall of vista?

Recently reinstalled windows vista home premium on a friends laptop and installed the wireless lan (intel) driver off the sony site and the device is not able to detect any wireless networks and the wireless adapter is not appearing in device manager. Have i missed a few drivers or utilities which i need 2 install?

Check in devise manager and make sure the wireless is enabled, right click the Intel wireless in devise manager and click update driver.

Did you use the system recovery disc set made for the lap top or from some one else's install to

re install Vista ?

I had that same exact issue ... it turned out the hard drive needed to be replaced Hope this isn't the case, but you should at least look into it first thing. Start her computer up and go into BIOS .. F10 or F12 when the PC is booting up Then go into the settings and see if you can locate her hard drive. If it is just a black screen with the white text "No operating system was found" then you might have a bigger problem. The good news is that you could just buy a hard drive and replace it yourself for pretty damn cheap. and I would suggest the 32 bit for that laptop by the way.
