Is it a good idea to put your computer on hibernate instead of shutting it down?

I don't like shutting it down bc I found it convenient to turn on my pc quickly if I remember to check stuff on the internet. However now I am wondering if that is good for my notebook laptop. Thanks in advance.

Hurts nothing that is what the sleep and hibernate Modes are for. Have done it for years and hardly ever tun mine off, at end of day or using it I just close the cover and when I open the cover it wakes up just like it was left. Read the user manual for your brand, model listed in all programs or download by model number from the laptop manufacturer support.

It is fine, but I would recommend turning it off once a week as some system updates require shut downs to install, if it is not updated it can sometimes put your computer at risk from viruses.

yes its easier to hibernate it if you want to use quickly, but if you know you are not going to use the laptop until the next day, you should shut it down
