I have just installed Windows XP Professional on my Dell Inspiron 6400 that had Windows Vista 32-bit, and now i am currently missing Drivers

Base System Device
Base System Device
Base System Device
SM Bus Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

And the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC seems to be there but not working, i have tried downloading codecs from Dell but Device Manager only allows me to install them from a CD and it does not let me search on my computer or the Web, just from D:\ drive.
Can some one tell me if there is an especific location on my computer to download the drives, or how do i make Device Manager look up updates online, or is there something besides Device Manager, and my burner does not seem to be working, i tried burning the codecs to a CD-R and DVD-R and it does not work.
Thank you.

Download , install , find the drivers by model number and installed operating system here:

http://www.support.dell.com

If you have the Vista recovery and install disc set use the driver disc to re install the drivers.

Did you use a set of XP disc made for your lap top to install XP ? if not it may be a illegal copy of Windows XP.

Go to devise manager right click each devise and click properties then click update driver.
