What's the difference between Mini Display Port and Mini Hdmi Port?And full size HDMI and a mini Hdmi port?

I am thinking of buying a Microsoft Surface Pro early next year, but it has a mini display port, would i be able to connect my HD tv to my Surface Pc via this Display port?Also my current laptop has a full size Hdmi port, what is the difference between this full size and Mini Hdmi port??Thanks in advance.

Yes, But you would need to get a separate cable for your surface and your TV



Microsoft probably made an adapter to solve that issue.



Also Buy the New Surface That is coming out on Windows 8 as it supports more applications

A micro HDMI port has the exact same features as a standard HDMI port, but it's smaller. The drawback of this (the reason people don't just use mini HDMI) is that they are far more delicate, and they brake much faster. They also cost more to manufacture.
