at first glance I would've said the macbook pro, due to it's retina display. besides I think mac are more user friendly. Both of them are pretty much the same, but the alienware has a blu-ray BD-ROM, and it's a bit cheaper.

so I would go for the Alienware; you're getting almost the exact same thing, but with Blu-ray and a cheaper price.

hope it helps

The Mac although dearer, will last you longer, with less updates, than a PC, as you can see Windows 7 is on SP1 once it an Windows 8 is on RC (release candidate) designed for iPads etc. I am not a fan of using a laptop for gaming as that is not what they were designed for, but id you have plans for a professional carrer the Mac is the way to go, of course I am a PC person, but I have heard people say once you go to a Mac you don't look back? Justiy the cost for basically the same laptop with a different OS?

Go for Macbook Pro. I have had some time with the MacBook Pro Retina Display now, having purchase one and spent a couple of days spending time with it setting it up. Stunning screen, impossibly thin, blazing fast app opening speeds, and unbelievable lightness definitely recommended.

Both over priced brands, but you'll be able to do more with the alienware.
