My computer is an Hp (i don't know the model) and it's running on Windows 7. I want to completely wipe everything, without having to have any previous state of the computer. I want it jst as it was when i bought it, everything wiped and i can re-install anything that would be lost like MP3 Rocket and iTunes and whatnot. i'm backing up what i can onto a usb but i really don't care, i just want my computer fixed. Any help please?

There should have been instructions how to do it. Most computers nowadays come with factory recovery partitions that have all the default system software. You would just need to push a combination of buttons on startup to do it. Look up your specific model on how to do it. If you don't have a factory recovery partition or recovery discs, then you may need a Windows 7 disc to do it.

If you already have an install disc, skip this part:

You'll need a blank CD. Put it into your computer, then go to control panel, and search for backup and recovery. Then, select " create a recovery disc" and create one using your cd.

Once you have an install disc or recovery disc all you need to do is insert it, shut down the computer, then boot up again into bios (typically by holding down f2). Follow the instructions for what key to press on the screen that comes up with your computer manufacturer logo. Then use the arrow keys to go to the boot section, and select boot from cd.

Once it boots up, if presented with an option, select "reinstall windows" or "clean install" or whatever comes up.

Warning: THIS WILL WIPE your hard drive so make sure you're backed up!

Hope this helps.
