I have an hp laptop. It wont turn on. I already did the whole unplugging the power, removing the battery, pressing down the power button for 30 seconds, then putting in the plug, then pressing power again. I did, and the light goes on but the screen stays black. Then the light turns off after a few seconds. I tried putting in the battery but it wont even light up with the battery on. What can I do? Help????

Hi,

Unfortunately it sounds as if you have a hardware problem so I suggest you take it to a repair shop.

Hey,

Unfortunately, it sounds like a hardware issue, it's unlikely you can fix it yourself. Take it to a computer repair center, maybe they can fix it or give you a solution..

*** Unlikely, but here's another response ***

Can you try taking the battery out, and turning it on WITH THE CHARGER PLUGGED IN? Remember, battery out, charger in, press the power button. It sounds silly, but some people with bad battery issues or similar issues do that. I'm not sure it will help in your case, but trying can't hurt.

How long have you had this laptop for? If you can't even boot off a operating system disc, then take it to get fixed.

Good luck!

try keeping it on the wall charger. If it still won't come on you have these problems. 1.battery is fried 2.charger shorted out. 3 the DC in jack needs to be replaced. note my Toshiba laptop DC jack what's the problen for me when it wouldn't turn on.

Did you create the operating system recovery media for the laptop ?
