an lcd has just ONE native screen size, if you try and run a program that has a Fixed sized screen eg an old dos game, then you will be stuck with whatever the graphics card can give you. you should be able to attach an external monitor but even that may not be flexible enough to stretch the display to fill the screen. sometimes the driver for the display can perform a better stretch with the settings on advanced.

Do you have desktop settings? There you can change the picture to zoom, scale, etc. I dont have Windows so cant tell you where to find it. I just right click on the desktop and see settings.

Down on your task bar on the lower right-hand side locate the graphics software if you can't locate the graphics software there look into control panel graphic software Intel or nvida or ATI Radeon open up the graphics software if you don't see any you need to download the chipset and the video driver off the website that manufactures your computer but if it's already there open up the software find where it says aspect ratio and click full screen instead of maintain aspect ratio where it's currently set then click apply and your entire screen will feel like it is supposed to

Try pressing F11 and going to full screen mode.
If that doesn't work--and it seems too easy to be the solution--then the screen resolution needs to be reset.
1. Click the "Start" button and click "Control Panel" to open the Control Panel.
2. Click "Adjust Screen Resolution" in the Appearance and Personalization section to open the Screen Resolution window.
3. Click "Resolution" to open a slider control.
4. Drag the slider's marker upward to select your maximum resolution.
5. Click "OK" to apply the increased resolution and open a confirmation dialog box.
