My computer constantly updates. It gives me a two day warning, then updates it when I shut the computer down. Usually, the update fails and shows the following message Failure configuring Windows updates Reverting changes Do not turn off your computer." It takes maximum 30 minutes for it to go back to normal again. This time, however, it's been showing the screen for hours. I have work to do and I can't do anything, all it is showing is the text and an infinite loop. I can't exit out, if I shut down the computer and open it (by pressing the power button), it just goes to the "Failure" screen again. I've read to restart the computer or reboot but I can't since there is no button or screen I can access, I'm stuck on the "Failure" screen. Please help!
Also, if I get past this, is there any way to stop future updates? They're a big time-waster.
Thank you!
(My computer is an ASUS notebook)

a long shot but do you happen to have any removable/external devices attached to the computer when it is trying to update? Like an external hard drive or sd card, or a disk in the cd/dvd drive? If there is disconnect them then power off the computer and start it up again and see if it loads. If not, then power it off and then power it on and keep pressing f8 (as soon as you power it on) HOPEFULLY this will take you to another screen where you can select to repair your computer....or if that isn't one of the options see if safe mode with networking is an option
