i think you might need to update the driver for your ethernet controller

go to system in your control panel, choose the hardware tab and then device manager and update your ethernet driver from there.

You need to run the connection wizard on the laptop, make sure you've got all the needed information from your ISP (just take it off of the pc).

You can likely also establish a wireless connection, most newer systems have a wireless network adapter built in, and most ISP's auto-provide a wireless connection service.

To establish a wireless connection, just run the Windows Wireless Setup Wizard on your hard-wired system (the one connected directly to the router), then run the same wizard on your laptop, only select it as the secondary connection.

Hope this helps.

i had the comparable undertaking after reinstalling vista on my computer. it somewhat is probable only the ethernet port drivers. you are able to desire the drivers which incorporate broadcom or whichever your computer desires. if no longer then it probable is a seting which you cant locate. attempt going into community putting or internet putting and changing the relationship. wish it enables. ought to no longer. yet provide it a attempt..
