Question:
No Audio Output Device is installed? Toshiba laptop w/Vista?
2011-10-17 06:40:52 UTC
The other day my 2 year old son fell on my laptop. The touchpad was pushed in and I received the above message about an audio output device. The touchpad is working fine now but I have no sound on the laptop. I've tried all the methods I could find online. Restoring to a previous date, enabling/disabling sound, etc. The computer acts like there is no option for sound at all. I had Realtek and cannot even find that on the laptop anymore. Likewise when I tried to find sounds in the Device Manager there is not even a sound option. Tried doing a search thru files and programs and the only option for sound that appears is a recorder. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The average weight of a 2 year old is 28 lbs. A 28 pound impact to a laptop can surely dislodge, remove or force out position several internal connections.

I doubt very much that it is an OS, configuration or software issue.

The laptop covers need to be removed and checked to see what came loose or apart.

Good luck,

Like DELL the speakers and connection mounts under the touch pad.

If this is the case you would need to open up the laptop.

I feel you need to reinstall the audio drivers. Go to control panel and add/remove programs and check for audio drviers..realteck and uninstall them...you have the drivers CD go ahead and install just Audio drivers..i case you don't have the CD for the drivers..you can also download them and install from below..I am sorry i don't the Toshiba model..search below:
