When I put a CD or a DVD in the Drive, the light blinks and it makes a whirring noise, but no autoplay pops up and when I try to access it from My Computer, it doesn't work as well. I've used the CD Drive before, I don't remember exactly how but it took a lot of effort to get it to start functioning. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

Your best bet is to just replace the drive. They are very inexpensive these days. You can buy a DVD writer for under $20 shipped.

Turn off the computer. Open the case. Ensure the CD ROM data cable is plugged in tight on both ends. If that doesn't fix it, replace the CD ROM drive. They are not very expensive.

pass on your interior of sight library and get on the internet and get carry of the drivers that are needed for the networking card and if that doesn't artwork than i say do only a sparkling deploy of homestead windows and via the way in case you place a sparkling deploy it is going to be homestead windows vista or homestead windows 7 considering the fact that's what the producing unit drivers for the prompt card are used for

Have you tried the dell site? http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

To see if there is a newer driver for that device?
