I will strongly recommend you Apple MacBook Pro MC700LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop. The new i5 processor upgrade, 4gb of ram and other design elements such as the large multitouch trackpad and the backlit keyboard make this a great machine to use daily. The graphics are so clear, it is so fast and so light weight. While buying Macbook air you have to sacrifice memory as it has less hard drive

True, is more expensive than most, but just ask yourself WHY?? Good stuff never comes cheap. No? compare speed, performance, OS X vs Windows. There is no possible way to compare them!!! Thinking to buy a new computer, get a MAC.You can check this out at

If you're doing editing, Apple does have a reputation of being useful for that kind of stuff, but the Macbook Air, sleek and eye catching and light, really suffers via functionality. It lacks ethernet ports and a DVD drive. I would personally go with the Vaio because I like Windows more than Apple's OS, but if you're traveling with this laptop at all, the Air wouldn't be a bad choice.

truthfully Sony Vaio Z.. as you're an college pupil, say working example in case you utilize any softwares to your math or csci instructions, maximum of them are domicile windows properly matched and not mac properly matched.. so which you will ought to finally end up searching for the mac properly matched version or use the "domicile windows emulator" at one extra value. computing device's are truthfully extra customizable and upgradable at a cost-effective value than Macs. i could say once you evaluate the two the specs, you may probable get a very good processor and ram area than Mac. As you mentioned the only draw back of possessing a computing device is the virus assaults, yet once you're secure then computing device all the way!

he new 13-inch MacBook Pro. The state-of-the-art dual-core Intel i5 processor delivers up to 2x faster performance (over the previous generation of MacBook Pro). New Thunderbolt technology lets you connect high-performance peripherals and high-resolution displays to a single port, and transfer files at lightning speeds. And with the new built-in FaceTime HD camera, you can make astonishingly crisp HD video calls.

With the revolutionary Thunderbolt technology, you'll be able to achieve bi-directional channels with transfer speeds to peripherals like external hard drives and servers up to an amazing 10 Gbps--while also connecting to a DisplayPort-compatible high-resolution display.

As with previous models, the MacBook Pro features a precision unibody enclosure crafted from a single block of aluminum, creating a thin and light mobile computing workhorse (less than 1 inch thin and just 4.5 pounds) that's also highly durable. And it includes a 13.3-inch, LED-backlit glass display as well as a glass trackpad that doesn't include a button (for larger tracking area) that features Apple's Multi-Touch technology. You'll also get up to 7 hours of battery life while on the go.

This version of the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro (model MC700LL/A) features a 2.3 GHz Core i5 "Sandy Bridge" dual-core processor, 320 GB hard drive, and 4 GB of installed RAM. Other features include integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics, ultra-fast Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth connectivity, an SDXC card slot, two USB 2.0 ports, and a FireWire 800 port (see full specifications below). It also comes with the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system as well as the iLife software suite, which includes the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.

It depends on what you want.

If you choose a MacBook Air, you'd better really want the Air model. Otherwise, get a MacBook Pro.
