ok, so im a student, and i'm looking for a small laptop that i very portable, easily taken from class to class, so im looking at the 6-cell acer aspire one (yes, its almost here) or the newly release dell mini 9. i'm liking the ubuntu already on the mini 9, but the keyboard looks way smaller. also im looking for something i can whip out and "whip-in" within a few minutes, not looking at something that would take a very long time to boot (acer is looking great for starting up really fast). plz help me decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks

I would go with the Dell Inpsiron 9. Both are very similar with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor and around the same price. The things I like about the Inpsiron is that it has a better design, Ubuntu, and some extra features. The Acer Aspire One does have a larger hard drive if you get the traditional drive rather than the solid-state one. But, if I were you, I would upgrade to Windows XP Home. I have Ubuntu to dual boot with Vista on my laptop and I have no clue how to operate Ubuntu. Just know both of these computers are quite slow and are only for basic use and not gaming or movies.

I have the mini 9 and its AMAZING! Its faster than my desktop! Also, the mini9 has a 4 hr. battery life, but the acer only has like 2. ALSO, the mini 9's keyboard is very clever. They moved the F1 F2 F3 ect. , to the middle row of keys to make it smaller. just get the Mini 9! It will change your life!!
