Dear Experts!

My laptop (VGN FW30B sony) has the display problem, there is a red display on the screen. The red colour is very annoying me. Some technician said some Wire is broken, if we change the wire a new one, it can be solved, But another technican said that The video card is broken. we have to replace that card. that is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series. How much does it cost to buy a new one. and is there any way to solve my problem, I think the video card is fine, becasue we connected my laptop to the another monitor, it is good display without any red colour display on the screen. sometimes it fixs the problem temperarily, when I move the screen or when I press the cabin of motherboard or something. also it causes to blink from red colour to normal colour. please advice me how to solve this problem without spending much money. How much does the Wire relating to Display cost? how can I get that wire from online?so Please help me how to solve this problem. Very thank you for your great support.
thank you in advance!

It's probably a ribbon-type cable (a cable with many conducting wires running parallel to each other on the same flat plane) but I can't be sure. You need to check back with the technician who said it's a broken wire, he would need to see the actual wire or cable in order to buy the correct replacement. I also have a feeling it could probably be just a loose connection since it is fixed when you press something somewhere so it's worth checking the connections first.

It sounds like the LCD inverter is not working correctly (due to the fact you can still see images when you look close) if that is the case you will have to take it apart & phiscaly change it you can get diagrams on how to do this from the hp website. It may be a video driver if that is the proble all you would do would be to hook up a external monitor so you can see the screen then go to depending on the os go to controll panel then go to system then go to device manager then find your video driver right click it then choose roll back driver.
