I wouldn't make it run Windows, but sure, why not?



If you aren't particularly into computers, I would recommend a Mac because they are cheaper to operate (they are more expensive to purchase initially, but the problems people have with Windows over the court of a machine's life make the Total Cost of Operation (TCO) for a Mac much lower, and the resale value much higher.



However, if you like computers, this looks like a great piece of hardware to run Linux on.

It is a very good laptop, and, yes it will burn CDs.



If you are not good with computers, then I would recommend a Mac, they are very easy and do mainly everything.
