The Dell Factory Setting is contained on the hard drive that you formatted. Therefore, unless it is on a separate partition, it is unlikely that you have that option anymore. I do not believe that you will be able to restore your laptop to the original factory condition.

Yes it's possible but it really is a downgrade to XP. You will encounter several problems if you try, that sound thing has already been mentioned, as well as drivers which could cause problems. I'd stick with Vista, it isn't bad, and a whole lot better than XP. People only complain because of very specific things, such as some very (very) high-end games may not work on Vista. But for photoshop, downloading, it's great. It will take a couple of weeks to get used to it, as it's a whole lot different from XP, but stick with it and you'll soon be unable to turn back to XP.

In Bios there is almost definitely an option to restore factory defaults.

However, this is Bios settings, and is unrelated to reinstalling Windows or formatting your Hard Drive.

Hi

its simple you should have the licence attached to the laptop it is that which you really need.

a vista disk can be had over the internet. or any vista disk i would suggest a 32bit version as your licence will cover it...
