What is the best laptop for multimedia applications such as 3D, video editting and advanced graphics?

Hi,

I'm a multimedia student. I'm buying a new laptop as my current one does not handle some softwares very well. It's a bit slow to render my works even for macromedia flash files.. As I'll be using more powerful softwares such as 3D max and video editting softwares, can somebody tell me what is the best kind of laptop that suites my needs? I need to know what kind of graphic card is the best.. I'm aiming for NVidia GeForce. Can someone tell me if it is good?

I heard that Intel core 2 quad processors are coming for laptops soon.. But some also say that it'll only be available for desktops for quite a long time till it is made available for laptops.. Which one is true? Should i wait a little longer for the latest intel processors?

I heard there's only to be octa-cores coming, so will you wait for that? The waiting game is no end, but it does save everyone money.



I don't like Macs, but if you got the cash, go for a MBP. But if you're a PC guy, search for a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. GeForce, or the ATI cards. Doesn't matter that much if you're not gaming intensely. A C2D should work, at least in the T5000+ range. 2GB+ memory. Vista or XP, your personal preference.



You'll end up with similar prices going with a Mac or PC. But good thing about a PC is that you don't always have to worry about compatibility.
