I would suggest a Mac Book Pro. It should meet your requirements. Macs are know to be very good at design programs and similar things. However, if you what a computer for just playing games, get a windows, mainly because there are lots more games and there way less expensive. I had to pay 60 dollars for a mac game that would of cost half of that on windows. Now if price of the games is not a problem, the number of games are( although some of the top games can be bought for macs, but at a higher price.) Some games might be found in Apple stores or online.

Hope this helps!!!

Edit: Also, ask the guys in the store. They should be able to help you more.

I'd have to go with the 17" MacBook Pro. It has an insane battery life for a laptop with that much power, a 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo (upgradeable to 2.93 GHz), 4 GB of RAM (upgradeable to 8 GB), a 320 GB hard drive (upgradeable to 500 GB), an NVIDIA 9400M integrated graphics with a 512 MB 9600M GT discrete GPU, a 17" 1920x1200 LED-backlit display, and a backlit keyboard for typing in the dark. It has more than enough power for games like NFS and the Sims and it comes with iMove pre-installed for editing video. The low-end 15" model would also work fine if you want something cheaper and you don't mind the smaller screen and shorter battery life.

One piece of advice, though: Apple seriously overcharges for hard drive and RAM upgrades, so if you want more than the base configuration, buy it from Newegg and install it yourself. It's not hard at all - you just remove the battery cover, replace the hard drive and/or RAM, and put the battery cover back on.

You have to pick one priority. I edit video and I still use my 7 year old Mac because it still better than running Premier Pro CS3 on my 1 year old PC. Not as much better as it was a few years ago. But still worth the difference in price. Nothing beats Final Cut Pro & DVD Studio Pro. As to which Mac, buy the biggest one you can afford knowing Final Cut Studio costs about $1200. Or you can get Final Cut Express for $299. It has MOST of the features of the Pro version.

If Gaming is really your priority, go PC.

Going back to the Mac, the Tower is best for video editing because you have room to add extra drives inside.

Normally I'd always recommend a Mac over any Windows box, but if gaming's your bag then a Mac just isn't the best choice.
