Question:
Macbook memory?
?

I will buy a macbook air. It says 128 gb, i couldn't understand it. That means the whole computer's memory is 128 gb, or it is no memory. Because my phone is 32 gb, and i think 128 gb is really low for a laptop. If i buy a 128 gb macbook, and download a 72 gb-game, will it consume half of the memory? Thanks

Yes it will. You can always buy external hard drives. External hard drives are fairly cheap now a days. If you buy a 500GB one, store the game on their and all of your info-only store the OS on the internal SSD. This will keep it running nice and fast. The reason they put such memory in now a days is because they aren't actually hard drives. They are solid sate drives, this means that they now use electrical transistors instead of moving parts to store information; this makes them more susceptible to damage, much much faster at reading and writing and more reliable although they are also more expensive, so by putting a lower memory one in, it keeps the cost down. One more thing, you shouldn't really be 'gaming' on a MacBook Air. It just doesn't have the specs to run.

Hope I helped,

Chris

Yes it means 128GB memory. If you want to download huge games, I would recommend buying a PC with a better hard drive. Alternatively, you could always buy a portable hard drive and store things on that, but in the long run, buying a PC would be the smarter decision. Good luck.

If you realize 128GB is not enough, you simply pay for the larger storage.

The storage is not "hard drive". It is PCIe flash storage, so it is 2.4 times faster than a solid-state drive. My main Mac has 1.25TB internal storage, but I use several external drives. Until they make a computer with 10 TB internal storage, I will always need a few extra drives. That's life.
