Why does my laptop keyboard suddenly show a different symbol when I hit the question mark?

I just noticed that when I hit SHIFT key and the key with the QUESTION MARK, I get this _ an underscore. When I hit the SHIFT key and hit the UNDERSCORE key I get this ?
What happened to cause this and how do I straighten it out

No, what I stated originally is exactly what I get. I know a slash and the question mark are both on the same key. Also, when I hit the equals sign I get an upside down question mark like this ¿

Obviously someone has changed the keyboard settings but it had to be me as I am the only person using it. What did I accidentally do and how do I correct it....

I suspect that what you get is not an underscore, but a / (slash). The ? and / are interchanged if you press control/caps-lock. Press them again and see if this fixes it.
