I bought the laptop almost a year ago and it was working perfectly, but then a it got a virus from downloading something from the internet. The keyboard stopped working but I managed to install a new version of windows 7 Ultimate, but the keyboard still won't work, i downloaded and installed all the drivers I found but still it wont work. And when I got to devices and printers, the is a yellow triangle at the laptop's icon and needs says needs trouble shooting, but when I troubleshoot it fails to install the drivers. One of them is called 'Base system device'. Everything else is working except the keyboard, I'm using an external USB keyboard right know, but its very uncomfortable to use. Please help!

This issue is normally caused by an outdated or faulty driver.

There are several ways to fix this issue.

One would be to go to the manufacturer website and look for the actual updated driver but this would require a bit of tech skill.

You can always try a more simple solution.

What I recommend here is giving Driver Robot a try. It will automatically check if you have any outdated or faulty driver and will replace it with the good one.

I bought a V3-571G in 2013 and it nearly immediately started having some keys not respond to the regular touch. It tends to not work as well when the PC has been sitting (totally cooled down) but sometimes the problem occurs when in regular use as well. Strangely some keys are more likely to stop working than others. Any new feedback on this problem is welcome. I'm running Win8.1 and have had no viruses. I am still under Acer's warranty but they have to delete everything as part of their method of 'helping'.

I would contact Acer for service. It may not be a software issue, but a loose connection. If you do the service yourself you can void your warranty.

it's still under warranty so get it fixed right. if the original tech can't be trused, find a new one unless they will fix it for free.
