My sound on my laptop is in full working order. All the settings under control panel are ok and I can do the configure test and everything is fine. BUT when I try and play a DVD there is no sound? Does anyone know how to resolve this? I really want to watch my DVD!! I thought it was something to do with the dvd settings but they are all set to high too? I am totally stuck.
Thanks
Helen

The app that is running your dvd i.e.powerdvd, media player, etc is not configured correctly. Tweak the settings or reinstall.

Try a different app to run the dvd

Just try playing some sample music from your computer everything is ok. Then try reloading DVD.

Is it an old computer? If yes, and you have been "blasting" sound out of it for quite some time now, then the sound card is shot. If no, and it's a new computer, then I don't know. One way to check if its the sound card, is to plug in a pair of headsets and see if it plays from them.

I recommend you to try with other DVD and also reinstall the application or use other application for playing DVD.

Have you tried restarting your laptop and also are you sure that the DVD is good quality?

maybe your laptop do not have the necessary codec for the audio file of your dvd..try installing k-lite codec pack at filehippo.com
