MFT fragments can only be dragmented "Offline". Which means you need to tell your defrag software to defrag system files and it will schedule an offine defragment the next time you reboot. I don't believe the Windows XP Defragmenter will defragment the MFT. So you will need a 3rd party defragmenting software. PerfectDisk works good for most users.

you shouldnt have to defrag......according to the info ...

Volume fragmentation

Total fragmentation = 0 %

File fragmentation = 0 %

Free space fragmentation = 0 %

you dont need to defrag. id suggest restarting your computer and trying again though if you like
