Question:
Sound problem on laptop. Help?!?
2010-09-27 12:09:25 UTC
I have a relatively new acer laptop and have had no problems with it so far... until today! I was watching a youtube video (with my earphones plugged in) when the sound suddenly went really strange and low and kind of tinny with an echo. I thought it might just be the video so I tried listening to songs on spotify. At first the music sounded fine, but then the singing started and the lyrics were all strange and had an echo as well! So then I thought it might be my earphones, but when I tried them in my iPod there were no problems at all. The speakers on my laptop are fine, it's just when I plug my earphones in that it gets weird again! I've restarted the laptop but the problem's still there, and have looked to see if there are any default sound settings I can change in control panel but I can't find anything. Any help?

You've got some type of 'sound manager' involved, that modifys the way that you output is rendered.

I.E. - sounding like you're in a fish tank

echoing from a hall

opera-style

etc.

You might have a RealTek sound controller, or Sound Blaster controller, or something liek that.

You have '3d-effects' enabled, it's probably a hotkey you don't even know about, and it turned it on.

I recommend you to try to fix the issue by performing System Restore. Also check the sound settings for Realtek once.

I recommend you Altysoft Video iPod Conerter, it has professional version and free version, both of them can convert video to your iPod.

Altysoft iPod Video Converter is a iPod video converter that converts video files, DVD movies, YouTube videos, so you can play the videos on your iPod. Altysoft Video iPod Converter can convert all types of video files (avi, divx, xvid, flv, x264, vob, mpeg, YouTube, etc.) into the proper video formats(MPEG4, H264) that play on the iPod.
