Question:
My laptop has a trojan virus, and now I can't boot it up!?

I recently downloaded a Trojan virus onto my laptop, which started flagging up fake warnings, offering me fake spyware and malware. I read a bit on line about this, and tried to manually cleanse my laptop of the Trojan. (at this point, I will let you know, I currently don't have internet access)
Everything online suggested that I should download Malware, which I cannot do. I found one site that took me through manual removal, and started to follow its advice. It told me to open Task manager, and shut down the Trojan process. Not knowing what that looked like, I shut down all non essential processes. Then it told me to find the registry key. I am aware of how to do this, but was unable to locate it. I deleted what I thought was the right one, and the computer restarted.
Every time I try to boot the laptop up, it says there are errors. I tried starting in safe mode, but it just goes round in a loop. I then tried to open start up repair, and after a while, it just says that it can't fix the problem. Does anyone know how I can get back into my laptop, and once in, the best way to manually delete a trojan virus without downloading anything? (Laymans terms appreciated) :)

Once you messed up your OS registry ( and i think you did), there is pretty much no way back. The best thing is to reinstall the os on your laptop (after a full format of the drive C). If you have data you want to save from, use a Ubuntu Live cd and copy the datas on a flash drive or dvd.

good luck,

Hello. My name is Sanjay Patel, and I currently hold an honorary Master's degree in the field of Computer Science. I am aware of, and have personal knowledge related to your question. There are computer maintenance businesses which are probably in your area, however they come at the cost of hiring a professional to enter your home. There may also be some local destinations where you can drop off your computer and wait to have a technician look at it. These options can often be costly, and pretty inconvenient. The answer to this question can probably be found doing a little extra research on Google.

A well-running computer can be a hard thing to maintain. From my experience, there is but only One software which is reputable- and consistently reliable for healing sick, slow computers. Reimage™ - https://reimagefix.im is a world-renown, easy to use software designed by Forensic scientists and made for the average person. This thing will fix literally just about ANY problem you could possibly be having with your PC. Reimage was recommended to me by a Professor during my 2nd year of Graduate school

Since you went in an killed the OS you have limited options to save your files (assuming you want to). Take the computer to a repair shop, every electronic and office supply store has one. They can remove the hard drive and hook it up to a protected computer, and then move the My Documents to a large memory stick. Then they will reformat the drive and reload the OS. You will have to reload your programs. This will be expensive. If you know how to do this then you can do it yourself.

Then you should load a good AV program. Suggest Norton NIS.

Finally before you move your My Documents back to the clean computer use Norton to clean the viruses that are hiding on the memory stick. Once that is done you can move the files onto the clean computer.

I just tried https://reimagefix.im mentioned by that Sanjay guy on here and it completely fixed my computer. I was having all kinds of problems that were absolutely annoying me to death. This computer had viruses, spyware, error messages, hardware problems, and it would often crash or freeze on me. I think the worst thing to me was how SLOW and laggy it became. So just when I was about to wash my hands with it, and waste money on a new computer...I find this.

hi.

I think you delete some OS essential files. so there is no way back and you should install new OS. and about deleting trojan manually you should be experienced and can recognize unusual files by your self.

unusual files like strange extension, strange icon, and the directory of file that placed is important. Good luck.
