Don't get a MacBook air.
They're so thin that it causes a lot of problems.
-Outdated hardware
-Lacks many standard features of most newer laptops (such as USB ports from what I hear)
-Overheating problems

Please read carefully.
There are NO PROs for a Dell computer, they just plain SUK. Here we go: Macs are easy and now you can get a Dual Processor that does Windows also. No other computer can make that statement. A MacBook 2.4, 4 Gigs Ram will do the trick for you. Lightweight and is a Heavyweight in performance. With Apple Stores usually close by it's easy way to get your computer fixed if it's a minor problem. They usually do right on the spot. With Dell in particular you have to send it to them [at your cost] and wait for at least 2 weeks to get it back. Almost no one will work on a Dell so Dell's got you. If you take the time to check Dell's website everyday you will see the same model computer configured slightly different and with a different price. Deceptive to say the least. Hope this helps you make a decision no matter which computer you buy.
Here's why you should get a Mac:: There are NO CONS. The MacBook does both WinBloze and OSX, no other computer can make that statement. You have the best of the best. Apple Stores are popping up all over and you can make an appointment for a time and date, bring your computer there. They will troubleshoot it and fix it if it's a software problem it's FREE. What other computer company has stores and can make that statement? Get the 2.4 GHz with 4Gigs Ram and you got a speed machine like mine. The WinBloze people may not like a Mac computer but I'll bet they all have iPods. Go Mac and Never Go Back. Mac, the User Friendly Computer.
If you read the questions here you will notice that most problems are about every computer except a Mac. You do not need the Pro.

Get either a MacBook
or the MacBook Air
I have a MacBook
and I love it (:
but the MacBook air
is much thinner and
it's newer.

Jone B is wrong,
It does not cost money to update a Mac.
Your mac tells you when you have a software
update and it's totally free. I should know I have
a mac and it's great.
And if you want color you can custom order a
colored one if you don't want to custom order
one just by a case. Mac's are much better
than dells. Dells start to run slow and get virus
after one month of having when Mac's get no
virus at all and still run fast even with a lot uploaded
on the hard drive. (:

plz plz plz dont get that dell. dells are seriously **** and the macbook pro is definatly the best computer u can get, i have one, after having a dell i really dont want another one but my macbook pro really has been great! dont pick a computer cause of its price or pretty colors, cause all dells have horrible specs and work awful and the macbook pro looks sexy and has a beatiful "edge to edge" glossy glass display in 13, 15 and 17 inch options, i recommend the 17 inch for its great preformance and overall sexiness. and windows is all u can get with a dell and windows , no matter what version sucks bad. but Mac OS X 10.5.7 (leopard) and soon 10.6.0 (snow leopard) is amazingly advanced and yet so so so easy to use. and to upgrade from leopard to snow leopard it will only cost 29$ at the most. but with windows, upgrading to 7 will cost u 129$ at the least.

well, don't get a macs!!!
As far as Macs - they're inferior (for the same price) hardware, more difficult and more expensive to upgrade, that runs FreeBSD and, for additional money, Windows.
Dell Latitude is good . I suggest you this one Dell Latitude E5400 14.1" Intel Core 2 Duo Laptop with 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD $684.00
if you looking for something simple just like doing homework and basic stuff then i recommend getting the dell
if you want performance gaming multitasking and pretty much do anything you want on the computer. it's like a small business computer then I recommend you getting the MacBook Pro
but why would you need a macbook pro if your only 12?
