I think the specs are decent although it seems the laptop is very heavy since the monitor is 17". From my experience, carrying laptop that has weight more than 2kg is killing me. So if you are very mobile, this laptop is not for you.

Another thing is I heard the quality of Toshiba does not live up with the expectation recently. You might want to look for other brands as well. The specs you mentioned above is quite standard, so I believe it will be easy to find the similar specs in other brands.

My laptop has quite similar specs as yours but with a smaller size - the brand is Sony Vaio. I should say that I am happy with it. HP laptop should be quite good as well.

Lastly, don't use Vista. It sucks. Frankly, I think you'd better to wait for Windows 7. But if you need a new laptop urgently, you'd better use XP. Vista is resource-hunger and inefficient.

yes is a good laptop! but i think that the Windows 32 bits no will be good. Why with 4Gb or more of memory, you need of a windows 64bits version. Or your computer will see 3Gb of memory only.
