can this laptop run the sims 3 collectors edition and GTA 4 on laptop?

ok well a few things might not be right firstit shud work fine IF

sims 3 and GTA IV they have compatibility for vista it shud be but if it isnt check up first

and just so u kno laptops are NOT meant for gaming i would kno and if u decide to play GTA IV with the multiplayer add-on dnt be so sure itll work as the multiplayer internet games on vista are **** they will not play all the time mine is vista home ultimate 64 bit and it dusnt play simple games like conquer online WoW Eudamons EVEN RUNESCAPE so dnt be so sure and postive check up reuirements on the back and dnt get windows 7 till its been perfected

Did someone pick that out for you or did you pick it our yourself? Because if you picked it out yourself you should already know. Those specs are bang on high-end system specs. Ofcourse it'll run GTA4 and sims 3. Even more so when you upgrade to Windows 7.

The 280m is almost the exact same card as the 9800gtx+ which is a very good gaming card on the desktop. I've never had any problems with Vista playing anything and I have WoW among other games. Yes, the cd will read. Why would they make a gaming laptop today with a drive that won't read recent games?

Your laptop will have no problems running GTA 4 and Sims 3.

First of all, the Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad QX9300 2.53GHz is the fastest laptop processor. (It is even faster than desktop's slower clocked Intel Core 2 quads!)

With such as good quad core, even games like GTA 4 (which is very very processor power hungry) would have no problems. (That includes new games like Prototype)

Your Graphics cards are also current the fastest graphics card that can be put into a laptop. (The Ati mobility radeon HD 4870 X2 is also a good choice).

The Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 280M, 2GB – SLI® Enabled may not be comparable to its desktop's brother but is still very powerful. (It is similar to desktop 9800M GTX+ SLI)

GTA 4 would have no problems at all with this set of graphics card.

As for OS, most new games such as Crysis, GTA 4, Fallout 3 etc can run on 64-bit windows systems. (year 2006 Games like C&C 3 will not run on 64-bit systems though)

As long as you are not planning to play older games, 64-bit windows is the way to go.

Your DVD drive will be able to read sims 3 collectors and GTA 4 disk as the minimum read speed for DVD slot-in drives are 8X, more than enough for game installations. (I bet yours is the 16X one)

oh yeah, this laptop can run sims 3 and gta 4 on the highest settings without any lags.

i have gtx 9800 + right now with a decent cpu and it runs gta4 smoothly on highest res and highest quality. ur sli gtx 280m is around 2 times better than my one graphic card (since sli is 2 graphic card).

why not? graphics card is good, processor is good, ram is good. laptop itself is superb
