Will my download continue if i close my laptop?

its an hp laptop. im downloading something. shud i CLOSE my laptop or put on sleep while screen is on? will download continue?

That depends on several things.



Most laptops have a micro switch on the lid that can turn off or put the laptop to sleep.



If you change your power profile to always on AND make the selection: DO Nothing when my lid is closed in the power profile, then you can close the lid.



If your laptop goes to sleep the download will end.

I am guessing you are on a mac laptop, no. The download will not continue and when you open your laptop Safari (or other) will say that the internet connection was lost

Your laptop will only download when its on. If your laptop shuts off when you close it(most have settings you can choose) then dont close your laptop. Sleep shuts power down to your modem or NIC card--thats why its called Sleep.

If you want your laptop to do something it has to be on to do--leave it on!

if you shut down your laptop the download will stop and you well try again to download the file,if you keep your sleep the download well downloaded to the end.

NOPE. Sorry, but you have to leave it connected. If you close it, it will dump your connection, and your valuable download of naughty pictures will cease. I kid about that, maybe.

this site will give you a sony vaio laptop just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want/need a laptop (like me).

attempt settings in ur torrent downloader utility, it could have option to disable hibernate or sleep mode, if now not, merely commerce your potential settings for in one day to via no skill for hdd, and device to tutor off.
