Laptop or Netbook Help?

I would like a new laptop/netbook because my laptop is extremely old (Advent 7113, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD) and I would like a new one. I plan to do homework and browse the internet, but I might do a little gaming (I have the sims 2 on PC but I just got the Sims 3 on xbox 360 so I probably won't play on the sims 2 as much). I was thinking about a netbook because they are cheap and are perfect for what I need it for, but I was also thinking about a laptop because I might do some minor gaming or put CD's on my iPod. Any suggestions would be appreciated, :D thanks.

A laptop seems to be the better choice, it isn't that much more expensive than a netbook and there are some great deals out there. A netbook is cheap because it runs a cheaper version of the operating system called Windows 7 Starter and has a lower resolution/screen size and lower specs.

A netbook's fine for older people or people in developing countries that can't afford a notebook, as for you, I'd go for a notebook. You certainly won't regret it. A notebook should at least have Windows 7 Home Premium, 2 GB of ram and a graphics card with 1GB of memory if you plan on playing recent video games. You'll have to determine yourself whether you want things like a big HDD, large screen, built-in webcam or card reader.

Perhaps take a look at Dell.com as they have a lot of quality laptops that are easily customizable when ordering online ;)

I even have the acer aspire one, and that i think of that is quite neat. the only project it quite is ever stricken me approximately that's the loud fan and absence of a CD force. different than that, that's the suited little pc to hold around everywhere. It even has a internet cam and microphone! :) P.S. i think of the version between netbook and mini-pc is that netbooks are in common terms used for the internet and, properly, mini-pc is quite self-explanatory. sturdy success which comprise your buying!

if you get a netbook, forget about gaming...

you might as well get a laptop with good size ram... just in case you're itching to play games with it.
