Hey so recently i got an Apple Mac Book Pro and i'm interested in making movies. I make music videos and am inspired by a girl called Briony.

Anyway, onto the questions.
1) Is iMovie able to make good/great music videos
2) Can you edit movies with iMovie (brightness, colour effects)
3) Is iMovie just for basic stuff?
4) Would you recommend me getting final cut pro for the stuff i wanna do?
5) What does Final Cut pro do that iMovie doesn't?
Yeah, i don't wanna spend £200 on final cut pro if it's not needed so if you could help me that would be great! ;).

1) Yes, iMovie is capable of making awesome music videos

2) Yes, you can edit the brightness and add effects to your videos on iMovie

3) iMovie can be used for both basic things and advanced things

4) If you want your videos to look more professional and more appealing, then you might consider getting Final Cut Pro or even Adobe After Effects

5) Final Cut Pro does a LOT more than iMovie. You would have to learn about Final Cut Pro, and there is a lot to learn!

Well if you already have iMovie then you might as well stick with it unless you plan on getting really serious with your video making. If that's the case then Final Cut Pro is the way to go. Final cut can do just about anything you want it to. After using Final Cut for a while I find it to be easier than iMovie but that's personal preference. Final Cut Pro is used by many professionals and is one of the top movie editing programs out there. Hence the expensive price tag.

Yes, iMovie can do a lot and can create great music videos. You can edit brightness and colour on the videos, and there are quite a few effects too. You can also edit the speed of the videos, create trailers, edit the audio, do basic chroma key (green screen) and much more.

Just play around with it and watch tutorials online to see if it does everything you want.
