I am planning on returning my laptop and getting a new because my laptop has the ATI Radeon HD 6370 and the Laptop I am planning on getting has the NVidia GeForce GTX 460M which in the Benchmarks does way better!
I am wondering what the Difference between DDR3 and GDDR5 other then speed!
I work in IT so you can get technical if you need to!
Also if anyone has the NVidia Geforce GTX 460M can you tell me what framerates your getting on games you play? the Benchmarks show it playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 with Ultra setting and 45FPS, Is this accurate?
And also what it is rated in the windows experience index for Aero graphics and Gaming Graphics.

Here is a link to the Laptop that I am planning on getting, Tell me what you think about it.

and here are the specs of the laptop I currently have! Tell me how much better the other one is..

DDR stands for double data rate, DDR3 is basically the 3rd revision of it. DDR3 is system ram. GDDR3 is graphics memory. Each version of DDR is twice as fast as previous versions. so GDDR5 is much faster then GDDR3.

The gtx460M is up on the top of laptop graphics. Im sure it can run any game on high or max settings with good fps. If you want to get the max graphics on all games and really high FPS, id suggest a desktop...

According to http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-460M.33612.0.html it gets ~30FPS on ultra for BC2.

Just so you know, the ASUS G53JW-XA1 is not a 3d laptop. Whether or not the card can support it doesnt matter. you need the screen to also be 3d compatible, on this model it is not.

Also yes it is possible to replace the graphics with dedicated cards, but

-They are not sold retail, they are proprietary.

-Upgrading the graphics usually isnt the best idea, each laptop is made specifically for the hardware it comes with. You may have major heat issues.

EDIT: hmmm im not entirely sure, but if you did hook it up to a 3d tv i would imagine it would work, but i cant guarantee anything.

The Asus Laptop will be a better choice since it sport an Intel Core I7 where the HP only sport the Core I5. The HP have only 512mb GDDR3 were the Asus have 1.5gb GDDR5. and not to mention, the HP only support 8gb DDR3 max where the Asus have a wopping 16gb of DDR3 speed at 1333Mhz. I say the Asus will be the most and better choice for you. On the Asus you get Full HD @ 1920x1080P. The HP only do 1600x900..

In my opinion, the Asus will put that HP laptop into shame...

Damn that's some nice specs for a laptop. You should be able to run everything at max or right below max settings without a doubt.
