A few weeks ago my HP notebook stopped working. It wouldnt load up past the 1st screen. So, thinking maybe its a system problem, I put in my system recovery disks. It loads the files, then gets to the actual recovery. After clicking next and agreeing not to shut the LCD monitor or unplug it while its in recovery...I get an error message. I called HP and they said that I could pay them $50 to tell me whats wrong (without being able to fix it if its a hardware problem) or pay them $400 to send it off to have it fixed.

So instead I bought a new hard drive and installed it, thinking it was a hard drive problem since the system recovery stopped with an error messge.

Sadly, I must have been wrong. After I installed the new hard drive, it got to the same exact place then I got the error message.

Anyone have any ideas?! I cant really afford a new laptop right now. Could it be the laptop hardware?

The mode is really called threat-free Mode with Networking. this enables the Adminstrator account to be seen and in case you didnt set a password for it on preliminary boot once you first were given the device, you'd be able to get in. in case you probably did set a password, with any success you keep in concepts it else you're screwed. in case you get in, in simple terms pass to regulate panel, customers, and disable the password on your account. in case you nevertheless have complications, do those steps back yet this time create a clean person and not using a password and make it an administrator account. in the journey that your different account is corrupt for some wierd reason, the recent account will nevertheless enable you to get admission to for your files for you to lower back up and reinstall homestead windows.

NoNo don't buy new one just yes. Do you have a virus scan? Try that out first! Don't go blow money on a new one when it might be very simple to fix.

when i had a problem with my laptop i called hp and they said there was a fee to fix it. the next time i called them it was a dfferent person and they said it was free to fix the problem and they would send a prepaid box to send the laptop to them with. i think you should try calling them again to see if the next person is nicer

take it to a local computer repair store and ask them to fix it. typically $50 to fix it. if not, no charge.
