Dear Reader -

This is a re-posting of an older question. I'm hoping to get better/more answers
I am a Computer Engineering major - but my knowledge of PC's is limited
I I would like some suggestions as to what I should get - below are some of the things I'm looking for

Something with a powerful processor - dual or quad if possible (i7 preferred, but i5 is also okay)
Large RAM
Nice design (if possible)
Price Range - willing to pay up to $1500 for something decent

As you can see, I don't have that many wants -
I need something powerful - it would be nice if it had a sleek design - but that's not a necessity
Feel free to explain your recommendation(s)
Thank you very much
PS. Please do refrain from posting rude comments

Blessings

For style and power I have always like the alienware machines.

You can get a really kicking machine for 1500.

I have spec'd one out below, you see even with the i7, 4 gigs of memory, AND a true video chipset, it is still under your price range!

Not to mention the case is a really cool design, with name etching and a very very unique look!

Vaio EC series - i5, IdeaPad Y560d - i7, HP Envy 17 0 i7 are ok, but the Lenovo is last choice. Vaio is sturdy, great if you want something that doesn't brake easily and willing to pay more for the quality. Vaio is like the german car. HP Envy is also a good choice, but out of the tree I'd choose an Alienware M15x - the ultimate geek tool. Alienwares are really special, check out their website and see for yourself.

NCIX.com is an excellent source for computers of all kinds. I have actually purchased a computer there myself, and the service is amazing. Did I mention how fast the shipping was?

I found a nice laptop from Acer that seems to suit your needs quite well. It about $1,400 and is very powerful for a laptop, especially for gaming. As you wished for, it has 8 GB of memory, which is quite impressive for this price, and the processor is a quad-core i7.

For all the specs and other important info, here is the link:

If for any reason you don't like this laptop, NCIX sells many more at their website. Here's the link for all of their laptops:

Good luck with your purchase, if you do choose to buy it!
