My Personal preference has always been for ThinkPads over Mac's. The new ThinkPad T420 with the Sandy Bridge architecture is just an awesome performer.

SSD wouldn't be my preference because of bang for storage buck.

Also if you are a long term Windows user, the change over is pretty costly in terms of software updates.

Been a user of ThinkPads for years, both IBM and Lenovo, there is nothing that comes close.

Great review on our site ....

Depends what you are doing with it, but if I had to choose it would be the MacBook Pro

Reasons:

Looks better than lenovo thinkpad (nice aluminium casing)

Mac OS X operating system (more hassle-free than Windows + more stable)

Bigger SSD

Apple Support is better

Higher resell value

+ you can always run Windows 7 with Boot Camp

both are good, stay with windows, easier to get software also try to stay away from solid state hard drives there not as reliable as Sata cylinder drives
