Go here and download the manual for the 1690 series (the 1691 is a part of this series): ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_1690_ddr/manual/as1690-en.pdf

Look at the illustration on page 13 and the description on pages 13 & 14, you are looking for button 6 for wireless.

This PDF is really informative and packed with illustrations to guide you.

The support web portal for all of Europe is here: http://support.acer-euro.com/

I hope this has helped guide you

There should be a button on the front of the laptop which switches the wireless on and off.

Two buttons next to each other. The one on the left is the Bluetooth button and the one on the right is the Wireless button.

There is a light on the button which will be on or off depending on if it is switched on or off.

If you don't see a button, then it may be one of the F-Keys. On my particular model I have to press the Function button (FN) and the F8 key.

Each of my F-Keys has a symbol on it and the one on the F8 key is a symbol of an antenna (denoting wireless).

Righty! Not sure if that latop is wireless enabled but here goes anyway!

Click on Start, All Programs and then go into Launch Manager. At the top of the box that appears should be "Wireless Lan Boot Status" if you don't have a wirelss adapter it will be greyed out saying "Wirelss LAN not exist". If you do have a wireless card you should be able to sort it out from there.

But usually you should just be able to switch it on from the from of the lappy. Mine is a little slider toggle.

Good Luck.

The UK’s University of Exeter studied effective weight loss techniques and concluded that cravings might be countered by a brisk stroll. How very British.
