Question:
Should I get a 15.4" Macbook Pro, or a Lenovo Thinkpad T61?

I'm a college student, I have an OLD thinkpad i series. It was really good when it came out, it still works but its too freakin old. I'm wondering whether to get the 15.4" macbook pro or IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T61.. I'm going to be using it for school, maybe I might play Lineage2 (www.lineage2.com) every once in a while or some counterstrike 1.6 shouldnt be anything too serious on the graphics. BUT I do like to video edit so If i go Thinkpad Ill be using Sony Vegas Video. And the main reason I was thinking apple is cuz its pretty goodlookin, and it has Final Cut Pro.

However, Thinkpads black simple business design is wonderful. Timeless. And I LOVE the trackpoint mouse, as well as the touch pad.

One reason i hate the Macbook pro and most other laptop is they only have that stupid freakin touch pad.

Thoughts? Also I dont want to spend too much.. : (

You can plug a mouse into a macbook, but to me it looks like you are doing great at reasoning it out. From what you have posted here, it sounds to me that you do like the Lenovo better.

Read your own post you want the Lenovo, DO IT!!!

I am a mac and linux user, and I would love to tell you to get a mac, but i dont think you really want one.....

Good Luck and enjoy!!

There are a few things, first, what are your main goals for the computer (internet, movies, games, etc)? Second, why would a Lenovo last longer than a mac pro? You can put windows on a Mac and run your games on it, mac start up and shut down are fast. They both come with LED screens. Have you used Mac before or strictly Windows? I just switched to Mac after 15 years of Windows and have no regrets. It took about 2 weeks to get used to where things were and what they did but I am happy with the move. Leaving the laptop on for 3 weeks it is still running. My new computer with Vista shuts down every night due to an error! But we're not discussing OS's here so its up to what you are using it for. Hope this helps.
