No. The processor used is a single core Celeron 585, something that performs like a very old pentium 4 processor.

You will not even reach the minimum requirements of Sims 3 with that laptop.

Here is one laptop that should allow you to play Sims 3 (at low settings)

Compaq - Presario Laptop with AMD Athlon™ X2 QL-62 Dual-Core Processor, Model: CQ60-215DX, $399.99

It has a AMD dual core processor, much better than the Celeron processor.

It uses the integrated graphics card Geforce 8200m g, not too great but still better than the Intel GMA 4500MHD.

3dmark05 comparsion:

Intel GMA 4500MHD: 1332

Geforce 8200m g: 1722

This laptop will thus allow you to play the Sims 3. It is also just $50 more than the Celeron laptop, thus this laptop is really value for money.

If sims 2 works fine then so will sims 3 :).. There will be a drop in performance but if you set all the graphics to low and keep the laptop well cooled while playing it should be fine! Lots of people make the mistake of blocking the fan , therefore overheating the laptop and having it shut down on them:)

It will do the trick. The specifications call for a 2 GHz Pentium 4, and this laptop has a 2.16 GHz Celeron, which is better. All other specs look good; RAM, hard drive, video, etc.

edit: found another good laptop

Smaller, but with better hardware, and Vista Premium instead of Basic: http://www.jr.com/acer-computer/pe/ACE_AS45205464/?JRSource=linkshare&SiteID=lw9MynSeamY-n*5o8mDQ1az75NMcQMfTuQ

Enjoy The Sims 3!

Probably, although you obviously won't be able to play on the highest settings. Why not just get the game and play it on the family computer. It'll save you some cash....

I would have to say "no". It' has a crappy Celeron CPU.
