Laptop CPU over heating?

Hello,

I have a laptop Acer 5735. It kept constantly over heating and I did the following: Cleaned the fan, replaced the thermal paste and reinstalled Windows. The problem still exists. Laptop switches off very soon after playing the game, or when I use a program for example, for video converting.

What can be the problem? I do not know which brand thermal paste was used, but can it be so important? The max allowed temperature is 105c for my CPU. The average of the actual temp is 55-60. Is this a lot? then it quickly goes up as I start to play, and switches off at about 95c.

Please suggest anything.

Thanks

maybe you are running many applications at the same time. go to msconfig or get a program like ccleaner to check what you have at your windows startup. maybe you have lots of things running on your background that you dont even need!

Check it out!

Check where do you place your laptop while you play. There are those stands expecially for problems like yours. But placing it on a stable plane would do.

If you really want to be safe, after it heats up, push it a little where the table is still cold, leaving the place where your laptop was to cool down. But that is very extreme.

Let me tell you, a temperature of 55-60 C (i assume is degrees celsius) as an average is very high. If you just bought it and you have the warranty I suggest you bring it back, because it will always give you problems.

If you were wondering why it switched off at 95 C it is to avoid CPU damage by overheating.

The problem is with all the Acer 5735 laptops the cooling is not right calculated.

If your laptop is still under warranty complain by Acer.

They have to solve your problem of to replace your laptop.

There are two things that you can do:

first of all you should let enough space for the ventilation system to operate and what I mean is that nothing should block the path of the warm air escaping.

and

buy a fan that you can place near the ventilation system providing excess air.

Download Speedfan software at: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

this tool allows you to change your computer's fan speeds, read the temperatures of your motherboard and your hard disk, read voltages. If you are trying to figure out why your pc hangs when under heavy load or after some hours of usage, SpeedFan might help you to find the real cause.

I had the same problem, I was able to buy a small fan that sits underneath the laptop and it powered by usb and blows cold air into the the fan to stop it from overheating and the problem stopped straight away.
