Why doesn't my laptop detect WiFi signals anymore?

I have an HP tx1000, and for the past few months, it hasn't been detecting WiFi signals. At first I thought the wireless adapter was busted, but I saw that it still detects Bluetooth signals.
Also, HP Wireless Assistant stopped showing the 'WLAN: Enabled" line.
What should I do?

How old is it? It maybe is the network Adapter, or it could be the switch is set to off. Bluetooth and WifI are two different adaptors so since your bluetooth adapter works that doesn't mean WiFi will work also. If you have a warranty phone HP or the store you bought it from if you have one of those extended plans
To check your network adapter you can try going into the command prompt at time "ping 127.0.0.1" that will send ping the loopback address to test the adapter. If you get a reply from then its working for the most part or if it says request timed out then theres a problem.

Hey Joel,
You may want to check to see if there is a switch on your laptop that turns the WiFi on and off. It sounds like the radio transmitter is turn off.
