Question:
Where can I get a new and working display driver for Ati Mobility Radeon HD 3470?

I'm looking for a display driver for Ati Mobility 3470. With my original driver, when I plug in the tv through hdmi and after some time the screens (both on my laptop and tv) start to blink and I get a message sayin that the display driver stopped working and restarted; sometime a blue screen comes with a long text about physical memory dump and the pc restarts. That's with the driver that came with the pc.

So far I tried to install the catalyst pack 9.2 & 9.3 modified with Mobility Modder.net. The catalyst installation goes well but the display driver, not so well. Sometimes I get a common 3400 series display driver, sometimes I get a driver for 3450 when I have 3470. The problem with those drivers is that Avivo Video settings do not apply on those driver. but otherwise they work fine (no message, no blue screen, no restarting pc).

I have a Sony Vaio fw31j. The display driver version is 8.513.1.0.

Anybody got a solution? anybody knows where I can get a better driver? or how to fix the Mobility Modder?

If the modder does not work then just use the standard driver.

Modding just adds another layer of complication which you don't need when trying to troubleshoot a problem.

Try the most up-to-date ATI driver from ATI.com or the latest driver posted on the sony site.

If they don't work then you might have a hardware problem - or it might be time to reinstall windows.
