That's a barebone for system builder. You'll need to put in your own CPU, memory, video card, network card, etc.

Personally I would just go with buying a computer. Getting roped into a 2 year contract for however much money a month doesn't really appeal to me. If you won't be doing much with it beyond using the net and other casual tasks, you could easily pick up a laptop for $300-400 that would still be quite decent. That way if you ever want an upgrade or to do something else with it down the road, you have flexibility. I would never recommend getting a computer on lease, but I'm probably biased thanks to the fact that I'm always upgrading parts, and have completely replaced everything in my system over the course of the last year. But really, do you want to still be paying for a laptop that could very well be overpriced for the next 2 years when you could get a laptop that met your exact needs and price range and then be done with it without spending much? If you're not doing any photo editing/gaming/movie making/rendering, then you really don't have to spend much on a laptop. A few hundred bucks will do the job and still get you a nice machine.

There are several other computers that would likely be better; you just need to comparison shop. Best Buy is a good place to compare computers. The main points that you should look for in an entertainment computer are:

Processor Speed

System Memory (RAM)

Hard Drive

Graphics Card

If you want to spend $700 on a computer, you may as well get a new computer. Here is a model with several variations. It is about two hundred dollars cheaper, and has a larger Hard Drive and more RAM.

you can also go to http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Laptop-Computers/Gaming-Laptops-Notebooks/pcmcat150700050002.c?id=pcmcat150700050002 for more laptops. Be sure to look at every possibility before you buy your computer. If you really like the one that you found, that is fine, too. Just don't pay too much for too little, and good luck!

LGA775 is a desktop socket so this means it will draw excessive amounts of power and you probly wont have good battery life

the intel 945 graphics are horrible, if you want to use this for any 3d applications, video editing or gaming it will be horrible

if you are just using it for word processing and whatnot then it should be fine but i do believe that the battery would drain quickly

Probably not. That's a barebones laptop so it comes with no video card, but the highest it will support is an 8600 GT. I'd look on Newegg for an ASUS. They have better deals there

for one thing, I don't think that it comes with a few components or any OS...

I wouldn't exactly buy from a site like that, either.

If you wanted to play Empire: Total War or Borderlands on a laptop, you won't be playing on anything but low quality on that, and you'll have to spend more to play with higher settings and a good framerate.

its pretty decent as far as laptops go.

you might want to get the one with the NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8600M GT 512MB if you plan on gaming on it.

you can run empire total war on the stock one, but it will prolly be slow with the graphics turned up.

the better graphics card should do the trick.

no, if you want to play games, you want an alienware or dell xps gaming system. (they are both from dell) if you cannot afford them because they are expensive, your best bet would be to buy an HP desktop. desktops are always better for gaming because gaming generates extreme ammounts of heat and laptops cant dissipate heat as fast.
