Dell Inspiron E1505 sound wont work, why?

Question

I reformatted my Dell Inspiron e1505 and I can't get the sound to work for the life of me. I don't have the Dell resources cd's with the drivers on it but I've downloaded the correct drivers from the dell website and every time I try to install it, I get an error and it won't work. Please help!

hi, friend. i don't think the drivers you got form dell site are right. perhaps you need to find them somewhere else. here is a link which i guess may help you get the correct thing to fix the sound issue.

This sounds ridicules, but i had the SAME PROBLEM and the same computer, what you do is go onto control panel and click on sound and uninstall your current sound driver, restart your computer, then it will re install it in bootup, once it reboots your computer will be as good as new. Now do this one if only the other one didn't work: Go to system restore and restore your computer back 1 day before this began.

i had that kind of issue but it was on a different model. just try to buy a cheap speaker for under $20 and hope it works.
