Hi i was wondering i have a computer that has 2gb of ram however i want to run a program that is highly recommended that you have 2gb. I have heard that the operating system always uses ram so would the application run like its got 2gb or would the operating system be taking up too much ram for this to happen?

The program manufacturers take into account that the operating system requires RAM as well. However, if it meets the system recommendations, then most likely it is still not going to run that well. I'd upgrade it to at least 3GB sometime in the near future if you are planning to run higher end more demanding software.

The recommendations for RAM take into account the amount of RAM that is going to be used by the operating system.

So if they recommend 2gb of RAM, they mean a total of 2gb of RAM.

The program specifications take into consideration the ram memory used by the operating system and this is the minimum ram recommended. Also taking into consideration if you want more than the one program open as well as any that run in the back ground upgrading your ram memory modules will help.

Go to http://www.crucial.com to find what your system now has, the maximum it will support, the correct replacement ram memory module to use.

Open job supervisor, (Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys), click on technique tab, scroll through this itemizing, do you spot something which you do no longer would desire to run?? click on initiate, variety in seek container "MSCONFIG" without the quotes and press enter key. click on Startup Tab key, look on the checklist, do you spot something which you will turn off and could no longer supply up something from working? if so then click on the container to disabled the startup software. Now click on centers, on the left hand side close to the backside click on the container next to "conceal all Microsoft centers", Do you spot any element which you will disabled? if so then click on the container in front to disable. Reboot, now look at your memory being use, did the huge style dropped? My equipment with 8 Gb, i take advantage of a pair of million/2 of my ram with 8 classes open and working. Any of the classes which you think of which would be disabled, examine through Google the report call. Paring down your startup and centers will shrink your boot time and strengthen available memory.

It reccomends 2 gigs of ram, taking in to account the OS is on there, so yes you should be fine.

you should be fine, when it lists a requirement like that it just means how much your computer needs to have, the program may not use all 2 gb
