I have a dell, and I went to go connect my printer to it and it worked, but later on when my laptop died, it went through some kind of device check before it would come to the password screen, and when it was finally done, it tells me that there is no networks available. But i am able to connect my phone and other computers are able to pick up wireless connection all around including ours.

I've tried F2 and pressing Fn + F2 but nothing happens, I've also tried to disable the WLAN and ethernet and then enable them again but that also didn't work.

I just did a troubleshoot and its changed, it says 'windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings'

Can anyone please help me?

My money would go on the Toshiba. I believe quality control between Dell machines intended for the domestic and business market are different. My experience of Toshiba machines is with semi-professional notebooks while all my experience of Dell machines is of professional machines. The Toshiba machines I have feel robust and have failed only in old age. The failures have been reasonably cheap to repair, and had I known what was wrong with them most of the repairs I could have carried out myself. The Dells have mostly failed in early life and have all tended to feel plasticy. When the machines have failed it is most often power supplies, however screens, disks and fans have also gone. Some of these repairs would have been quite expensive. That said, and given that I would prefer to have a Toshiba, the notebook I would choose for myself at the moment is the Dell XT2. However because of it's a Dell badge I have a Apple MacBook Pro with Windows 7 installed and will look for a Toshiba when they refresh their models.
