Macbook Pro Overheating?

So I just got a Macbook Pro, and it seems to run pretty hot. I've never had a laptop, and from my understanding, they all run pretty hot, but looking around online it seems that the macbooks have a tendency to run REALLY hot. I've seen a few different suggestions. First, that macbooks can run hotter than most laptops, and still work fine. Second, there is a hack called smcfancontrol, which might or might not void my warranty. Third, get a laptop cooling pad.

I was wondering if I should invest in a cooling pad, download the hack, or that there is nothing to worry about.

I have the 13' Macbook Pro, just bought from an Apple store.

Before you do anything go into the Apple store. Find out all your options first. If they say it's normal then your good to go! If you just bought it and something is wrong they will probably fix it for free, or for a huge discount. My Mac gets pretty warmed up too but I have no problems with it!

I'd suggest getting something like this http://www.laptopdesk.net/netbook-cooling-desk-stand.html. It's a simple solution, and that way you don't have to worry about your Mackbook getting too hot. It's also something that will make it easier to use!

I hope this helps.

It's not going to overheat unless you cover the vents. Just don't do that.
