Restoring Inspiron 9400 to factory settings?

I am trying to restore my Dell Inspiron 9400 to factory settings, but the problem is that I had previously reformatted my hard disk and installed Windows XP using the CD that came with the laptop. A silly thing to do, I know... right now I'm trying to find a way to get it back to factory settings because some of the buttons on the laptop don't work the way they used to. I suppose that I could try to install what's missing from the CDs, but I'd like to get it back to factory settings anyway.

I've been trying to find a way to do so, but there are no options that allow me to load from the factory image (I only formatted the partition for C drive, I left the partition which contains the factory image alone) and I can't even see the factory image anyway while in XP.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!!!

Dell may offer updates for your specific machine. I only use HP and I know there is the option to click "Start > HP Update". ...maybe dell has a feature like this?

Essentially your keyboard buttons have become assigned differently because Windows has assigned a generic driver to control user interface. Downloading the specific drivers for your machine should resolve this problem or at least allow you to manually assign each key to a feature you pick.

The disk grant you with an decision to do a production facility reinstall (wipe each element) or do a partial format and fasten all living house windows appropriate courses. The restore is your acceptable decision.
